10. Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, Shanghai, China.

                   Every Year nearly 2 million tourists, visit the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium which is located right next to the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower. The Aquarium nurtures thousands of marine animals from across 450 different species throughout the world. Critically endangered Chinese Sturgeon, poison dart frogs, jellyfishes, moonfish, leafy sea dragons, emperor penguins, Humboldt Penguin, Mudskipper, Giant Salamander, Electric Eels, Spotted Seals, Weedy Seadragons, Jellyfish, Sand Tiger Sharks and many more aquatic animals are the prime attraction of the aquarium. Some of these animals are super rare!!!! The Aquarium also has a long underwater tunnel for a great view. Aquarium is a hot destination for the Aquatic animal lovers and marine animal researchers.


9. uShaka Marine World, Durban, South Africa.

                   In April 2004, uShaka Marine World was opened. There are dolphin, penguin and seal shows hosted in the aquarium. Ragged-tooth sharks, Spinner sharks, Hammerhead sharks, and Local cat sharks, large rays including eagle rays, local moray species including honeycomb morays and geometric morays, local game fish, and large fish species including giant groupers, potato bass, kingfish, and cobia are some of the attractions in the aquarium. There are Ocean walker adventures, Lagoon Snorkel and even Shark Dive facilities available in the Aquarium. That’s fantastic!!!


8. Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey, United States.

                Monterey Bay Aquarium was founded in 1984, and has annual sales of nearly 2 million visitors. Thousands of animals from over 600 different species are nurtured and exhibited in the aquarium. Due to the proximity of the aquarium to the sea, the aquarium pumps the fresh ocean water to the aquarium to meet its high water necessity. The Aquarium was successful to grow the California Giant Kelp Forest and keep the rare and huge oceanic Sunfish in captivity. One can also see the Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, and JellyFish.


7. Turkuazoo, Istanbul, Turkey.

              The Aquarium is a prime spot in Turkey for the reservation and research on marine animals. Turkuazoo was opened to the public in the year 2009. It has the Marinescape Sea Tube under water tunnel, which is also one of the longest underwater tunnel in the world. The aquarium also has the one of the largest shark collection. We can also see the different species of Jelly Fish, Sea Horses, Stingrays, Turtles and many other magnificent creatures.

           It was opened in 2003 and is inside the Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences). The Architecture of the aquarium is truly fantastic and one of a kind. With over 45,000 animals from across 500 different species including the rare species of sharks, penguins, dolphins, sea lions, walruses, beluga whales and many more majestic sea creatures. The aquarium also has the dolphinarium, auditorium with a Red Sea aquarium, an area of mangrove swamps and marshland, and a garden with more than 80 different species of plant.

                 With a roofless 300m3 tank, the Aquarium displays the magnificent colorful corals which were cultivated in the aquarium from a long time. One can see beautiful & rare creatures like flame snappers, black snoek, luminescent shrimp. The Aquarium was opened in 2002 and displays the endangered and rare Whale Sharks and Manta Rays. One can also see the bioluminescent fishes from the extreme depths of the Okinawa Sea, which are not only rare to find but also difficult to keep in captivity.

                It features one of the largest sand tiger sharks collection in the world. With an aquarium tank of 51 metres in length, 20 metres in width & 11 metres in height, it gives a tremendously amazing view!!! The Aquarium also offers 48 metre tunnel giving an amazing scene. For the people wanting to experience the marine life up close, Cage Snorkeling is available. Long Australian crocodile named King Croc of over 5 meters long is and weighing nearly 750 kg is also a major attraction of the tourists. There is a Open Touch Tank at the aquarium where one can touch the stingrays, crabs and sea stars!!! Tropical Diver, Ocean Voyager, Cold Water Quest, River Scout, and Dolphin Tales are the galleries in which the sea creatures are exhibited. The AT & T Dolphin Tales exhibit is one of the most tempting shows in the aquarium, but don’t forget to make an advanced booking!!!


2. S.E.A. Aquarium, Sentosa, Singapore.

              Exhibiting over 100,000 marine animals of over 800 different species from 49 different habitats, Marine Life Park from Resorts World Sentosa, Sentosa, situated in southern Singapore ranks the list on number 2. With one of the largest collection of endangered species – Manta Rays, plus the scalloped hammerhead shark, aggressive silvertip shark, sandbar sharks, leopard shark, goliath grouper, saw fish, mahi mahi, intelligent Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins and mudskippers, archerfish and silver batfish are just some of the attractions in the aquarium. But there is a whole lot more!!!. Words can’t describe the beauty of these creatures.


1. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, Zhuhai, China.

                   Now comes the largest aquarium in the entire world, which is the 2014 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement (Theme Park) award winning aquarium called as Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. It is located in Hengqin, Zhuhai, China. It has nearly 12 million gallons of water held for the living of marine creatures, which earned it the Guinness World Record for Largest Aquarium. It also holds the Guinness World record for the world’s largest aquarium tank holding nearly the half of water in the aquarium. This tank is specially kept for the rare and large Whale Sharks. It also holds Guinness World Record for the largest acrylic panel and largest aquarium window in the world. It also has huge underwater dome for watching marvelous ocean creatures, which holds the record for largest underwater viewing dome in the world. In the year 2015, it got about 7.5 million visitors from throughout the world. The Aquarium has 7 diverse aquatic theme zones representing 7 different parts of the ocean. Truly fantastic, isn’t it?
